Well, it turns out the Internet is doing great things, and it has connected humanity like never before (Skype vs snail mail anyone?) … but with all the articles about Facebook and other social networking sites increasing feelings of loneliness, depression and general unhappiness in many users, it can feel like the promise of the Internet connecting us in amazing new ways is falling flat.

The hybrid business model has been touted as a way to incorporate the best of both the traditional business world and the non-profit sector. It’s a model that shows up frequently in discussions of social enterprise. At first glance, the model seems like the perfect option for a new social project: coupling the desire to do good of the non-profit sector with the ability to make money (and therefore the ability to fund said social project) of the traditional business sector.

I4P is unveiling new features! We’re pretty excited to share them with you.

Our key update is the introduction of the ‘needs’ tab on project sheets. Now you can post all the things you need to help your project grow and the I4P network can respond. People can also offer spontaneous help if your project is of particular interest to them. We want to foster positive change around the world. Following the launch of Montréal Créative dedicated to the City of Montreal, and an extension of Imagination for People’s site, Frank Escoubès was invited to do an interview on Channel M’s Noon to 2 p.m. program in Montreal. Frank Escoubès tells how his vast experience in business, more specifically in management consulting, helped him to elaborate the Imagination for People (I4P) project. His professional path led him to work in clusters, collaboration places in the social universe in order to help social entrepreneurs, organizations and communities who wanted to improve their community.
