Hybrid Business Models: A feasible way to do business?

The hybrid business model has been touted as a way to incorporate the best of both the traditional business world and the non-profit sector. It’s a model that shows up frequently in discussions of social enterprise. At first glance, the model seems like the perfect option for a new social project: coupling the desire to do good of the non-profit sector with the ability to make money (and therefore the ability to fund said social project) of the traditional business sector.

The way we view business isn't viable anymore

Frank Escoubès, founder of Imagination for People wrote a recent article for Huffington Post France in which he argues for a change in the way we view business. Which got me thinking about the way we choose to approach business and strategy. So here's a questions for you: If you think about a succesful business, don't you tend to see it as one which has outsmarted its competition and is now the "leader" in its sector?

Following the launch of Montréal Créative dedicated to the City of Montreal, and an extension of Imagination for People’s site, Frank Escoubès was invited to do an interview on Channel M’s Noon to 2 p.m. program in Montreal. Frank Escoubès tells how his vast experience in business, more specifically in management consulting, helped him to elaborate the Imagination for People (I4P) project.
