About the project Edit

Zymo is a school redesigned in terms of its infrastructure and its operation as a living entity. Intended for the less developed countries, particularly, the poorest rural areas. This project seeks to test the creation of a new society based on the symbiosis between technological progress and environmental imperatives. With Zymo, school space is completed for three interconnected areas of activity: an area to ensure energy and material independence, an area to ensure nutritional and sanitary self-sufficiency and another to ensure openness and communication.

In what ways is this project unique and creative? Edit

Zymo offers parents who put their children in school the opportunity to experience to benefits from the infrastructure, by using the technology offered, so that they can develop their economic livelihood in an autonomous and independent way.
Children will enjoy the benefits generated by these activities (food, drinking water, feeling revitalized, health, internet access, etc.), while learning. They can use the technologies from each area to learn through practicing and experimenting, in order to solve, locally, their daily problems.

What is the social value of this project? Edit

This project hopes to partly solve the impossible - offer school or paid work to children.
With Zymo, schooling generates income.

What is the potential of this project to expand and develop? Edit

Brought forth by a design process and reflection on its uses and the user's place, Zymo was designed to address the local challenges to turn them into viable solutions and objectives. As a concept and business model, it will be adapted according to the final project (Africa, Asia, Latin America, etc...) and personalized (architecture, operation, business model, etc.). to ensure optimal appropriation for the local population.

What was the triggering factor of this project? Edit
