About the project Edit

The real-estate market is particularly inefficient. In the Île-de-France region, even though there is more available housing than persons seeking housing, prices have increased far too much: 60% of home buyers do not have the means to buy a home to meet their needs.

The reason for this being that we tend to communicate our offers much more than our needs. Individual buyers tend to circulate their ads widely before discussing their plans with those directly concerned: the residents of the neighbourhood in which they would like to live.

The goal of “Un jour à vendre” is to provide a marketplace for each district to allow property owners and candidates to locate one another and connect. Market dynamics are thus maintained to the benefit of both individuals and professionals.

The project is composed of two parts:

1. Content creation with the publication of Atlas Immobilier, an organized system of maps and lists to help individual buyers and sellers to independently find their bearings in the real estate market.

2. The launch of unjouravendre.fr, an online platform that gives buyers and sellers the freedom to establish connections, and qualifies supply and demand.


In what ways is this project unique and creative? Edit

This project does not target the visible market, the property for sale or rent, but the invisible market, property likely to be put up for sale or rent. It promotes housing stock that is, real-estate holdings. It exploits a natural, sustainable, inexhaustible resource: time—time of anticipation and opportunity. It is a network but not a social network. Individuals will never discuss themselves personally, but rather, their intentions and goals. The site aims to establish relationships, never to maintain them.

What is the social value of this project? Edit

Un jour à vendre is the first mutual-aid and real-estate prospecting network. It is a network of individuals who can receive support from professionals when needed. We are expanding the services available in the residential real-estate sector with a mutual-aid system for individuals, a complement to the existing housing assistance system. By providing the freedom of communication and freeing up the market, we aim to regenerate real-estate mobility. The project has the potential to move toward the creation of a new real-estate industry, defined by its expertise and solidarity, complementary to the existing industry.

What is the potential of this project to expand and develop? Edit

Île-de-France is already covered by this network. Access to additional resources will allow us to put all of France on the grid.

What was the triggering factor of this project? Edit

The issues that sparked this project were the growth of the real-estate bubble along with the realization that it has been aggravated by unilateral communication techniques. What launched the project was the solution we thought up. Unjouravendre.fr is a perfectly balanced communication network. Offer and demand can be equally expressed since they are both precisely geolocated (a given address can allow you to see inside of a ground-level building).

What is the business model of this project? Edit

The business model is based on the sale of publications such as Atlas Immobilier and on the participation of real-estate agents in the network’s development.
