About the project Edit

A complementary currency to establish the value of volunteer work for the volunteers themselves and for the associations with which they are involved.

In what ways is this project unique and creative? Edit

Volunteers keep track of the hours they contribute to their organization. These hours grant access to potatoes that can be exchanged for a party, a training session or a workshop organized by another association in the participating network. These hours are also valued at an accounting level so that the associations can integrate this added value with their own resources. Eventually, a cultural network could be developed that runs on volunteer work, using the potato as currency.

What is the social value of this project? Edit

Volunteer work gains a social value—a new structure for this value is explored. A form of compensation and accounting is established, which can be used as a real resource, particularly for grant applications.

What is the potential of this project to expand and develop? Edit

A given organization must have volunteers; this project provides the methodology for establishing this program. The accounting model has only been tested in France; the established norms of other countries would have to be researched before the project could be replicated as is.

What was the triggering factor of this project? Edit

What is the business model of this project? Edit
