About the project Edit

A local singer’s CD, a Nantes publishing company’s comic book and two tickets for an “apartment theatre” show are found in the Association’s first basket for a cultural short circuit (AP3C).

Themes

In what ways is this project unique and creative? Edit

This project provides access to a local cultural sample through “culture baskets” thereby helping a large part of the population discover regional artists. The artists themselves don’t have to go through stores and distributors. Some events are even organized at the resident’s place which alleviates the added issue of travelling.

What is the social value of this project? Edit

What is the potential of this project to expand and develop? Edit

This initiative can be developed in other French cities, create a larger community and touch a greater part of the population.

What was the triggering factor of this project? Edit

“The idea from the start was to gather artists together to find a way to really bring our art to life by giving culture its true price,” explains 29-year old Julien Berteaux, otherwise known as Momo. His second album is part of the basket.

What is the business model of this project? Edit

To counterbalance, purchasers commit to paying a flat fee of 20 euros per month which gives them four culture baskets per year. They cannot impose their choices when selecting artists any more than AMAP subscribers can choose their fruits and vegetables.

As the go-between between artist and the public, the “cultural short circuit” also intends to offer proximity and concrete exchanges between the two parties as a complement to the soul.
