About the project Edit

Students are in a phase of learning and development. The idea is that they can learn to produce vegetables to occupy their free time, become urban agriculture producers and turn a profit. In this way, they can also learn about environmentalism.

In what ways is this project unique and creative? Edit

Some businesses have extra space that can be put to use. Young people often have free time that they can use to pursue an activity that is both fun and educational. This type of activity sharpens their capacity to be creative and innovative.

What is the social value of this project? Edit

Urban agriculture can provide revenue for families, helping them meet some of their needs. Fostering young peoples’ interest in agriculture is a way of providing training in food production in the broadest sense. It may also change young peoples’ views of agriculture.

What is the potential of this project to expand and develop? Edit

The project can be set up in a city or in a peri-urban area. No particular conditions are necessary.

What was the triggering factor of this project? Edit

The project is based on the idea that if we can all water our flowers everyday why not water plants to produce vegetables. Why not ask our children to do it and spark their interest in environmentalism at the same time.

What is the business model of this project? Edit

This project can be accomplished at almost no cost. The land is available and recycling water from domestic use is not difficult. The only thing left to do is to develop a technical training program for young people who are interested.
