About the project Edit

Ruepublique is a collective, inclusive, participatory project that was born from a conversation: how can neighbourhoods positively affect the environment, build ecological consciousness and inspire municipalities to support a more friendly urban design?

Recently becoming a non-profit organization, Ruepublique’s mission is to develop friendliness in Montreal’s neighbourhoods by reimagining the streets and promoting better use of public spaces. Since 2010, Ruepublique has been organizing Journées des bons voisins, or Good Neighbours Day, that has neighbourhood parties that aim to celebrate community spirit and transform the street into a common space for creating, games and exchanges for residents of all ages and cultures.
