About the project Edit

The Popular Tree Murals project was born and inspired by a desire to valorize muralism as a tool for mutual cooperation, dialogue, respect between peoples, individuals and communities. It is an initiative that advocates faith in the potential of every human being. We believe that the strength of communities can make a positive change in our respective milieus. Our challenge is the view of colours that can positively regenerate environments in difficulty or simply share our concern to protect the richness of our environment.

Walls talk. They can be a megaphone, a grapevine that connects and celebrates differences. Some walls divide… The Poplar Tree Murals aim for walls to become more of a meeting space.

In what ways is this project unique and creative? Edit

This is an innovative project because it is wandering. It adapts to every possibility, time, context. It is a project that brings together individuals, groups, communities, organizations on a free or suggested theme. Through a process of dialogue, meetings and sharing, people valorize their ideas and their voices to determine the elements that make up a work of art.

Through consensus and the help of two mural artists, an enormous piece of art is created, where people of all ages with or without art experience can paint without worrying. The beauty and uniqueness of these works come from every hand and heart that participates. The richness is found in the process of exchange and realization. Larges surfaces can be created in a few days with a few hundred people. It is an inclusive process.
