This project aims to bring new uses to the usual mapping tools.
Essentials: our project is based on OpenStreetMap and must be interoperable.
1st objective is to provide:
- intangible data (ideas, projects, events, organizations…)
- relationships between data (partner, subsidiary, client…)
- data collection
- customization of each type of data (newsfeeds, data sheet…)
The 2nd objective is to be able to monitor data as it evolves over time.
The 3rd objective is to provide multiple ways to access information: search engine, topics, tags, territory, date…
The 4th objective is usage since using mobile devices is as much for consultation (with the possibility of augmented reality) as facilitated contribution (geolocalization, cameras…).
Complementary objective: provide information in 3D
This project responds to the expectations of new usages that are not easily accessible with existing mapping tools that are too limited to infrastructures or dedicated to a specific topic.
This project aims to provide a service that facilitates analysis of the area and allow tracking of social initiatives. Everyone is a user and contributor.
Using the contributing concepts of Wikipedia and OpenStreetMap, we can hope for the same success?! That being said, we can see that the territories have strong expectations.
On one hand, after testing mapping solutions that are more or less innovative, the region of Rhône-Alpes is still looking for a transversal solution. On the other hand, 3 students worked on the project for their DUT internships at Openscop.
To be defined… Several elements to keep in mind: public interest service > investment, information consumers > operation…
