About the project Edit

The LDaaS project arises from a need to provide people with tools to help them better organize initiatives, deliberations and opinion forming in a collaborative way.
Following the general trend of cloud based services, we think there is room to provide Liquid Democracy approaches in a commoditised way (i.e., as a Service), hence LDaaS.

In what ways is this project unique and creative? Edit

Bringing Liquid Democracy based ways of working and interacting to the People is a duty. We think this goal alone is something important for the future making this project something special.

What is the social value of this project? Edit

The overall social value of the project is both to show that there are opportunities to easily leverage technology to support more participatory democratic processes and to leverage collective skills of an interdisciplinary audience towards this goal.

What is the potential of this project to expand and develop? Edit

If we achieve the goal to put together such a technology stack that ordinary people can directly use in a self service way, then the potential impact is huge as anyone will be able to deploy it in it's own situation (association, local community, workplace group, etc.)

What was the triggering factor of this project? Edit

The initial idea comes from à Lift 14 Workshop ( ) that took place Feb 5, 2014 in Geneva. Check out the workshop slides here :

What is the business model of this project? Edit

This project is a community effort towards building an open source technology platform as a common good that can be used by anyone.
