About the project Edit

Kickstarter is a New York-based funding platform focused on creative ideas and ambitious endeavors. It is a way for artists, filmmakers, musicians, designers, writers, athletes, adventurers, illustrators, explorers, curators, promoters, performers, and others to bring their projects, events, and dreams to life. People who use Kickstarter to fund their projects ("project creators") keep 100% ownership and control.

Kickstarter is powered by a unique all-or-nothing funding method where projects must be fully-funded or no money changes hands. Project creators can offer products, services or other benefits ("rewards") to inspire people to support their project, for example, a hot-air balloon ride to the first person to pledge $300. If a project reaches or exceeds its funding goal before time expires. If a project's funding goal is $5,000 and only $4,999 is pledged when time expires, no money is collected. Also, no rewards will be delivered. No funding, no rewards. Everyone walks away as if nothing happened. If a project is successfully funded, Kickstarter will apply a 5% charge to the funds raised. If funding isn't successful, there are no charges.
