About the project Edit

The one and only certified social enterprise in the state of Kentucky in the United States in the translation and interpretation sector, In Every Language, has developed a project named Translation Plus Two, allowing refugees, people in socio-economic difficulties and women to work from home for cultural or religious reasons.

These people are freelance certified translators and interpreters, whose services are sold to large U.S. companies having implemented or not CSR policies.

Themes

In what ways is this project unique and creative? Edit

In Every language is a profit-making business that sells translation and interpretation services by providing an opportunity for a particularly disadvantaged population, which usually doesn't have access to this type of market.

What is the social value of this project? Edit

The slogan of In every Language is: "Translating words, Transforming Lives". The goal of "Translation Plus Two" is to support professional reintegration of talented immigrants, who are often excluded and/or seeking political asylum. The skills and motivation of these people are usually very strong, which guarantees excellent service. However, it is necessary to reduce the stigma of business customers to the extent that CSR managers are not the ones responsible for procurement of translation services.

What is the potential of this project to expand and develop? Edit

In every language is a profit-making social enterprise. Its services, tested on the American market, should be a validation of the relevance of the model (client acceptability). It therefore seems reasonable to expect that this model could be developed in other areas that has companies or communities that need translation and interpretation services. A solution such as international franchising could be considered in the future.

What was the triggering factor of this project? Edit
