About the project Edit

PHYSICALLY CONNECTING SOCIAL INNOVATION ACROSS 180 COUNTRIES BY THE END OF 2015

At the center of Geeks Gone Global is the GeniusCorps mission to give spark to innovation everywhere by providing all innovators with access to the people, places and resources that they need to grow. The Geeks Gone Global 180 initiative is the driving force for Geeks Gone Global. GGG Innovation Excursions are designed to physically connect over 180 countries by the end of 2015. In order to reach this goal, we only cover a country once, making every excursion a unique, once in a lifetime experience. The landing pads for these excursions are the organizations and initiatives of those involved.

In what ways is this project unique and creative? Edit

A BLUR OF BUSINESS AND FUN

Meeting and listening to the passionate innovators of the world is the premise for GeniusCorps’ Geeks Gone Global Innovation Excursions. The excursions will focus on discovery and collaboration with members of the emerging global innovative ecosystem. On each excursion, GeniusCorps will lead a group of international innovative entrepreneurs, investors and business enablers on a multiple country tour that is designed to open opportunities for entrepreneurs and the trip’s attendees to begin the process of meaningful collaboration and growth.

The daily agenda will be filled with meeting and engaging with the most innovative members of each community, discovering the innovative ecosystems of the countries visited. GGG integrates music and celebration in every country and each trip has a specially selected artist as a member of the trip who performs and extends the depth and excitement of the cultural exchange. Trust us, we blur business and fun so deeply that you won’t know which is which.

What is the social value of this project? Edit

REAL CONNECTIONS! REAL IMPACT!

Geeks Gone Global is not your father’s trade mission or delegation, this is something so much more awesome. We want to make real connections between people who are committed to truly changing the world and impact the lives of others. 3G is covering the entire planet to take actionable people to actionable people who understand each other and make real things happen. Our staff sits with each attendee personally and insures that you achieve the goals that you set out to achieve. Before and after the trip we solidify relationships for our attendees and we share every detail of the planning and planners with you so that you are empowered to take full advantage of your excursion.

What is the potential of this project to expand and develop? Edit

GGG Innovation Excursions are designed to physically connect over 180 countries by the end of 2015. In order to reach this goal, we only cover a country once, making every excursion a unique, once in a lifetime experience. The landing pads for these excursions are the organizations and initiatives of those involved. The end goal of the 3G 180 initiative is to establish a permanent set of living international conduits for the exchange and connection of socially innovative initiatives throughout the world.

What was the triggering factor of this project? Edit

In 2011, while travelling internationally to establish accounts for GeniusCo, then President of Global Operations, Faruq Hunter was in a little town called Horezu in Romania. Horezu is a historically famous city known for its primary export, handmade pottery. As the story goes, the town was small and simple with little exposure until someone decided to take some of the local pottery with him on a trip. When he returned valuables that had not once been in the city had taken the place of the pottery he left with, affording the man a lifestyle that was richer and more diverse than his neighbors. Since the one man’s journey, Horezu has become the world’s capitol for handmade pottery and the first Romanian city to develop a comprehensive local economic development plan. For the first time in the country’s modern history a small town of less than 10,000 is setting its own path to economic freedom.

Horezu offered a clear understanding to GeniusCo. Innovation, of any kind, is key to social empowerment, but without proper exposure and collaboration it cannot change the condition of the innovators or their communities. Upon Faruq’s return to the United States, GeniusCorps began to take shape immediately as a conduit of exposure and facilitation of innovators as a form of self development, gratification and social and economic development for the masses.

Through cultivating innovators by facilitating a rich and productive innovative lifestyle, GeniusCorps provides a sustainable flow of innovative ideas into the global market. Therefore, and in no uncertain terms, changing the world and enhancing the prosperity of its inhabitants.

What is the business model of this project? Edit

Geeks Gone Global follows a typical travel and tourism model. Capital is generated by selling the trips and additional capital is raised by selling sponsorship through brand placement in photos and various forms of media. In addition, items needed on the trip are sourced from additional innovators and sold to the attendees through our e-commerce site http://www.geekheaven.co
