About the project Edit

. Co-owning environmental housing in rural areas
. According to the friendly and solidarity housing mode (co-housing) to develop and maintain agricultural and craft activities

In what ways is this project unique and creative? Edit

It’s to create a group of residential, commercial and/or artisanal housing developed on natural sites in rural areas that by focusing on housing and infrastructures on less than 30% of site area by giving priority to preserving the natural environment.

The build can be made up of different types of construction, but preference is given to multi-units like condos, multi-apartments, row houses with commercial services and associated crafts.

The basic idea is to get inspiration from a rural type of housing or “hamlet” that is mostly developed in southern Europe in past centuries.

What is the social value of this project? Edit

We can propose developing a new housing concept with the goal of bringing an answer to the following challenges:
. desertification of rural zones
. aging population
. difficult access to exploit agricultural lands by young people
. maintaining craft activities in rural areas
. the need for more healthy and human housing

What is the potential of this project to expand and develop? Edit

We can expand this concept everywhere on earth which could encourage intercultural exchanges, sharing of dwellings and skills.

What was the triggering factor of this project? Edit

After having marketed in real estate investment for 20 years, I have chosen to use my skills for real community needs by focusing on human concerns and fundamental needs.

What is the business model of this project? Edit

This model can be exploited and managed under various forms according to the country, legal and administrative structures in place. We applaud co-ownership divided for residential and the social and cooperative economy for the activity side.

Types of activities developed:

. In priority, the permaculture on the principles of bio-intensive micro-agriculture to create businesses in Community Shared Agriculture (CSA)
