    • What innovation practices make a difference to reality, long-term? Restoring vision after 2008 has been weak, and we have substituted cheap online tech for hard policy. Our economic and social institutions have hit peak governance. This is experienced in civic life as a drag on democracy, as elected officials are captured by events and advocates make little progress. Yes our societal systems have proven themselves resilient - they have demonstrated immunity to structural innovation, while they continue to demand (micro) "innovation" to sustain their grasp.¶

Many societal systems have grown beyond their capacity to transform by management. Yet they are also resistant to bottom-up change. Collaboration alone is insufficient - We truly need new cultures of co-innovation, collectively deciding, and socially organizing.¶
