About the project Edit

Based in Palo Alto, USA, D-Rev is a non-profit technology incubator which aims at bringing health-improving technologies households living with less than 4$ a day in developing countries.

Innovative technologies are often to expensive for low-income families to use. D-Rev answers this problem by developing, supporting and distributing efficient technology at low cost.

Since it's creation, D-Rev has laucnhed many projects such jaundice treatments devices to solar-powered, low-cost microscopes used to detect tuberculosis and malaria, knee joints for amputees as well as a solar power energy system designed for rural households.

In what ways is this project unique and creative? Edit

D-Rev bridges the gap between those who create life saving technologies and those who need it most. Too often, innovative technologies that could be used by low-income communities to improve their health and economic activity aren't properly developed, financed and distributed.

What is the social value of this project? Edit

The products developed by D-Rev are significantly cheaper than other efficient alternatives. They contribute to improving the health of those who use it without compromising their financial situation.

They are also designed to be scalable and market-driven and could contribute to economic activity in rural regions.

What is the potential of this project to expand and develop? Edit

D-Rev currently works or has worked in India, Haiti, Nepal, Ecuador, Uganda, Kenya, Tanzania, Nigeria, Sri Lanka, Botswana, Iraq, and Bangladesh.
