About the project Edit

Culture at Work is a program that pairs arts and business and aims to increase interactions in the cultural and work environments across Quebec.

In what ways is this project unique and creative? Edit

Initiated by the organization Culture for Everyone, the Culture at Work program proposes a bank of cultural and artistic activities at work. It is a unique and innovative program in Québec that helps increase the quality of the workplace by stimulating employees’ creativity and innovation and strengthening their sense of belonging.

What is the social value of this project? Edit

Artistic interventions generate esthetic and emotional aspects that are generally overlooked at work and result in new behaviour and positive change. The influence of creative processes remains to be seen in the emergence of new products and services, repositioning of brands and technological innovation, but also on better management of human resources, communication of values and strengthening social connections.

What is the potential of this project to expand and develop? Edit

At a time when personal balance is becoming more and more a desired added value and when the ability of organizations to transform themselves is a major challenge, the arts and culture of a workplace are considered even more as assets in managerial innovation. The possibility of collaboration between artists and businesses is an emerging trend.

What was the triggering factor of this project? Edit

Precursor to Culture at Work, Culture for Everyone launched its Art at Work program in 2007. Since then, about 30 Quebec businesses, four of which are municipalities and two RCM’s, have welcomed artists at their workplace to realize collective arts in interaction with their employees.

What is the business model of this project? Edit

The project started up and was structured with a grant from the Strategic Innovations program of Canadian Heritage. The organization Culture for Everyone is looking for public and private partners for the operational phase.
