About the project Edit

BusBud facilitates bus transportation by offering to the traveller, anywhere they are, bus tickets, schedules and prices in already 66 countries.

BusBud is a mobile app.

In what ways is this project unique and creative? Edit

There are many apps like that, for planes, hotels and even taxis (Travelocity, Kayak, Expedia, Hailo..._. But there are none that want to regroup all bus companies across the globe. BusBud is a one of a kind mobile app for bus travellers.

Wherever you are in the world, BusBud makes it easy to find and book bus tickets. Skip the trip to the local bus station and use Busbud to book your trip online, in your own language and currency, from anywhere.

What is the social value of this project? Edit

The creation of an app like BusBud promotes public and communal transportation, that reduces pollution and increases connection between, us, humans!

It also helps out bus companies that otherwise would't have access to clients in other countries, as well as it helps out travellers whose planning is made easier!

What is the potential of this project to expand and develop? Edit

BusBud covers already 69 countries, 4296 cities and 10 languages.

What was the triggering factor of this project? Edit

The idea came in early 2011, while Busbud co-founder LP Maurice was backpacking around South America. He loved traveling by bus, but between the language barrier, the number of companies and routes available, and the difficulty of finding reliable schedules, he was spending way too much time figuring out how to get from A to B. In an era where one can book a flight, hail a cab, and reserve a hotel room from anywhere, he knew there must be a better way. Now there is.

What is the business model of this project? Edit
