About the project Edit

The BMW Guggenheim Lab is a collaboration between the Solomon R. Guggenheim Foundation and the BMW Group. It is a mobile laboratory that will travel to nine major cities worldwide over six years. Led by international, interdisciplinary teams of emerging talents in the areas of urbanism, architecture, art, design, science, technology, education, and sustainability, the Lab will address issues of contemporary urban life through programs and public discourse.

The lab is part urban think tank, part community center, and part gathering space, and explores issues of urban life through public programming and discourse.

What is the social value of this project? Edit

Its goal is to explore new ideas, experiment, and ultimately the create forward-thinking solutions for urban life. This program establishes a social purpose for BMW that could help address the exclusiveness/elitism of the “Ultimate Driving Machine”.

What is the potential of this project to expand and develop? Edit

They will travel to nine major cities worldwide over six years. They've already been in: Mumbai, Berlin and New York
