About the project Edit

Following the merger of Nef (France), the Banca popolare etica (Italy) and Fiare (Spain), the first alternative ethical bank was launched in 2010 as a European cooperative. The objective is to provide a financial institution dedicated to the growing demand for financing for humanity for the social and solidarity economy.

This bank is an initiative of the European Federation of Ethical and Alternative Banks (FEBEA), an international, non-profit association under Belgian law. Launched in 2001, it was created by: the Crédit Coopératif (France), la Caisse Solidaire du Nord Pas-de-Calais (France), Crédal (Belgique), Hefboom (Belgique), la Banca Etica (Italie) and the TISE (Pologne). These financial institutions have social and solidarity economy in common.
