InnovAfrica: Social innovation in the South

For a second year, Imagination for People is the organization leading the InnovAfrica forum. Our team has been working for a year now to organize this fourth forum taking place in Dakar, Senegal. The event launched, with great success, this morning, with activities taking place through Friday.

More than 100 leaders and innovators of all kind from West Africa working around the common goal of furthering new uses of technological and social innovation for development are reunited in Dakar. They are joined by online participants through the "Réseau Correspondant" working group. The theme this year is «Innovation by Experimentation».  Workshops include: innovation in online and mobile services, how to build Fab Labs, cooperation and governance, and new economic models. We will also be presenting an alternative currency used towards education, Moniba, which we have been testing for the past few weeks in Mali. News to come!

We are excited to see what will come out of this special week. We will most definitely keep you updated on the highlights.

For more information on the activities taking place, visist the InnovAfrica website (French).
